Music classes
for preschoolers
(3 - 4.5 year-olds)
Inspires imagination and musical curiosity!
Have you noticed your preschooler’s explosion in vocabulary, storytelling, and imagination? We know that preschoolers thrive on pretend play so in each Kindermusik classes your child’s budding creativity are nurtured through songs, stories, and instrument ensembles.
Your child will be delighted to:
- experience a variety of sounds and learn how sounds are produced by playing musical instruments, speaking or singing;
- play instruments with an emphasis on steady beat, repeated rhythm patterns, graphic notation, and ensemble music;
- play in ensemble and builds the skills preschoolers need in order to create music within a group;
- engage in creative expression and language play, expressing feelings and ideas through movement and music;
- learn to interpret graphic notation symbols and be ready to read traditional music symbols.
You are invited to join the fun for a portion of each class, sharing in the joy of music-making and learning through your Kindermusik teacher how your child is developing, all while strengthening your relationship with your child.
Your music experience doesn’t stop when your 45-minutes lesson finishes each week. You will be given anywhere access to music, stories, developmentally appropriate activities, useful parenting information, and more with your Kindermusik@Home digital and physical materials.

- Saturdays 9.00am
When can we join?
Our Kindermusik classes are run during school terms. From time to time, we also run holiday programs.
How will my preschooler benefit from Kindermusik classes?
Preschoolers are actively expanding their base of knowledge through trial and error, talking, moving, and yes, even being a little silly at times! There’s no limit as to how far a little imagination, a lot of music, the joy of being with friends, and some Sharing Time with family can take your eager learners who are also on their way to becoming promising musicians in their own right.
Musical Development
Kindermusik taps into your child’s natural musicianship and developing musical skills. Your preschooler will find and develop their singing voice and acquire a beginning vocabulary of music terms. Through singing activities, they will expand their song repertoire, begin to match pitch, and learn to use their voices expressively.
Language Development
Your preschooler has a lot to say, and loves to tell stories and share information. Your preschooler will enjoy the outlet in their Kindermusik classes for self-expression, through imaginary play, follow 3-step directions, and making up stories and rhymes.
Cognitive Development
Your preschooler is curious learner who has an increasing ability to think about ideas and things that are not immediately visible. They will stretch those cognitive abilities through labeling, repetition, sequencing, and participating in pretend play.
Gross & Fine Motor Skills
Your active preschooler will love the added challenge of moving to a musical cue as they hop, skip, run and walk, and become more expressive in their movement. Your child will be excited to take on the challenge of using a mallet and playing instruments with greater variety and skill.
Social Emotional Development
Every child is a contributor in our Kindermusik classes! Your Kindermusik teacher’s respect for each child and a knowledge of age-appropriate expectations means that each of your child has a secure environment to explore, learn, grow, and contribute.
