Music classes for babies

Make baby’s first class musical!
Whether your baby is a just a newborn, a few weeks old, a few months old, just learning to walk - they’ll love the musical together time with their parent, grandparent, or caregiver – YOU.
Music is one of your baby’s favourite things – AND it’s one of the best things for your baby’s developing mind. Babies’ brains are filled with billions of neurons just waiting to be connected through sensory stimulation.
This is what your baby will do when they’re in Kindermusik:
- your baby is immersed in a sensory-rich yet caring and gentle environment;
- they explore baby-safe instruments and other object play;
- they react to new sounds, sensations, and objects;
- you will strengthen your connection with your baby through joyful music-making together, story time, massage, relaxation activities and more.
You will also learn through your Kindermusik teacher what and how your babies are learning and developing with each activity, and get tips for weaving music into your daily routines at home.
Your music experience doesn’t stop when your 45-minutes lesson finishes each week. You will be given anywhere access to music, stories, developmentally appropriate activities, useful parenting information, and more with your Kindermusik@Home digital and physical materials.

- Saturdays 9.55am
When can we join?
Our Kindermusik classes are run during school terms. From time to time, we also run holiday programs.
How will my baby benefit from Kindermusik classes?
Young children newborn to age 2 are primarily in a receptive mode of learning. With you there to nurture and engage your child, a Kindermusik babies music class gives your little one the perfect head start, musically and developmentally.
Musical Development
Whether you are bouncing your child to the steady beat or they are doing a fledgling “bouncy” dance on their own, your baby is primed and ready to benefit from an early introduction to music through exploring instruments, listening to sounds, and moving to music.
Language Development
Your little one is inspired to begin to coo, babble, and hum in the Kindermusik vocal play activities – the beginning stages of learning to use their voices. Your baby’s language skills are developed through the Kindermusik activities like vocalization in response to music, hearing their name in songs, and exploring sounds with their own voice.
Cognitive Development
Little minds present a big window of opportunity, a window that’s actually only open for so long. Simple musical play activities increase your baby’s brain development by locating sounds though instrument and object play and feeling a steady beat.
Gross & Fine Motor Skills
Your baby’s movement repertoire expands through activities that support rolling, crawling, and kicking during music, as well as sitting and standing independently, and later learning to walk, march, and dance. From discovering their hands to learning what their hands can do, your baby will thrive on playful musical activities that give them practice in visually tracking interesting objects and instruments, and teach them how to reach, grasp, and release those objects as well as to transfer them from hand-to-hand.
Social Emotional Development
At a time when your child is becoming attached to you and just beginning to make their first connections with other people, Kindermusik helps you strengthen the precious bond with your child through cuddling, playing, humming, and dancing and also heighten the benefits of social interaction with others through side-by-side play and group dances.
